Everyone has those nostalgic memories of meals they ate growing up. You know those signature things you would eat on a weekly basis that your mom made, that you just couldn't get enough of? That's this dish right here for my husband. He LOVED it growing up and I love being able to make it for him as a grown up so he can still enjoy it and riminess on his childhood while he eats it.
The great thing, is that this meal is cost friendly and really easy to make. It makes a very quick and easy weeknight dinner that you can also eat for days afterwards because it's just that good. This meal is impossible not to pile on your plate and just sink into. Are y'all ready for this? Let's go.
Ingredients:
Nacho Cheese Doritos (or whatever your favorite flavor of Doritos is)
1.5 - 2 pounds ground beef, turkey, or chicken (anything works here)
Shredded lettuce or greens mix
Shredded cheddar cheese
3 diced tomatoes
1 package frozen corn
2 Tbsp French Dressing OR ranch (not a fan of French)
Directions:
Cook ground meat in a skillet until completely cooked through.
Crush up 1 serving of Doritos in a plastic baggy - set aside.
Chop up lettuce and tomatoes, make corn as directed - set aside.
Combine a serving of each ingredient together in a large bowl - toss until combined.
Serve on a plate and drizzle your choice of dressing over the top.
ENJOY!
That's it folks, a few minutes of cooking and dicing and you're all done. Don't you love a dinner like that? I love cooking for my husband, but I love cooking meals from his childhood even more. This recipe will definitely be family and friend approved.
Enjoy!
